Sports Academy

On Thursday 20 June, a group of us called Sports Academy went to Hamilton. We went up in two mini vans, girls in one and boys in the other. The girls van was quite crazy and loud. We stop off for a break before going to Chiefs Work out place.

We arrive at the Chiefs, everyone couldn't wait to meet the Chiefs. We got taken up stairs which there were punching bags and trendmils and rowing machines all lined up. Since it was raining the players wanted to get there outdoor training before it rained to hard so we didn't get to watch them. One of the players called Matt talked to us, he has been in the Chiefs for 2 years now. He also went to Rotoura High School and was playing cricket but then got asked to join the 15s Rugby Team. The lady who was there also told us that the chiefs have a day to do what they want its either go to uni or go trial for a job, as they need to have a second life when they either, retire or not in the team as rugby can not be there whole life.

The Chiefs came inside and started using the weights and everything. We were all watching down on them well they did. The music played very loud and there was a lot of groaning when they lifted up the weights, they looked very heavy.

After that we hopped back into the vans and went to the Waikato Stadium where they have the rugby games. We got shown where the Waikato team works and out and there changing rooms. They have a cold and hot bath to relax thew fluids in the body after a game. The hot one is like a nice spa pool and the cold one is about 0 degrees. There was over 25000 seats in the stadium.  We got to go to level 5 which was the top top. They are the corporate boxes you have to pay ALOT of money to go in one of those but it has the best view!!

We also go to go in the run way. Which on a rugby game they come out of the tunnel and onto the field we go to do that, I thought that was pretty cool. We left the Waikato Stadium and went to this park down the road. There was a huge slide and it was soaking wet we all went down it but it went so fast at the end you would lose your balance and like slide and try and not go head first. It started pouring down with rain so we went back to the vans and headed back to school. On the way back to school we stopped at the dairy we all ran in everyone got heaps of lollies.

I thought it was really cool going to the Hamilton and see how much you have to train and how much your whole life has to stop to put everything into what you are doing. They have to train from 9:00-5:00 each day but one of those day is their career day. I wish we could have talked to more to the players to get there aspect of everything, but we did talk to one. It gave me a lot to think about as sport is my life. It was a really cool day and I enjoyed it.

How to make a paper lizard

How to make a paper lizard
Positive- It was easy to make the paper lizard and it looked cooler than excepted.
Minus- That it was really quick.
Improve- In prove my photos by taking them at different angles.
I achieved to finish my lizard making a how to movie.
The thing I would do differently is that I would try something more harder next time.
I achieved the SC.

40 Hour Famine

I did the 40 hour Famine for my homework.
I did two 20 hours of no eating. On Friday afternoon. Milly came to my house. After dinner and desert we started at 10:00pm that night. The next day we had to watch my sisters hockey. Milly and I walked to the super market to buy some Just Juice and barley sugars. We arrive at Countdown, we looked at ourselves knowing that we were going into a food store. We go get 7 packets of Barley sugars and 2 bottles of Just Juice. Walking down the confectionary isle looking at all the sweet and sour lollies and chocolate. We pay and walk out. We walk out and to our left there was a group of people selling sausages and bread. The yummy sweet smell of the freshly cooked sausages on the BQQ.We quickly walked away.

We walk back to hockey watching the little kids try and hit a hockey ball. After that we go back home to were we made bracelets  while my family was having lunch as we didn't want to watch them eat. I had jump jam from 2-4 I took some of my barley sugars just incase I needed some energy  We went over the jump jam routine about 5-8 times. After that I watched cheerleading for about an hour as Sattori and Lauren were coming to my house for the 40 hour famine.
Sattori's mum picked us up and took us to my house. Sattori and I had started the famine on Friday and we had just finished 20 hours at 5:00. Lauren and Jahna hadn't started. So Sattori and I finished at 20 hours and had dinner with Lauren and Jahna we had pizza and muffins for desert it was really nice. We started at 6:30pm on Saturday night again. We ate barley surgars and watched movies.

The next day we woke up really early to it raining. We just stayed in home theatre watched tv and computers. We got ready and did each others hair a we were going to the movies which it was for Millys birthday. We started getting really hungry at the movies. We watched fast and furious 6. It was a long movie. At 2:30pm was when we finished so we ran out of the movies and got popcorn and drinks and went back in to watch the rest of the movie.

Im glad I choose to do the 40 hour famine. As it makes you realize that what those kids are going through overseas in other countries with no food.  I did 40 hours but stopped in between 20 hours as. I wasn't allowed to do full 40 hours. I'm happy I did, I got to spend the weekend with my friends and had an awesome time!!!

G1. Give to children in need: Participate in the 20 Hour famine. Raise a minimum of $40.00

I am doing this task this weekend, from the 7-9 of June. But I am only doing 20 hours. My friends and I are doing it together. So hopefully we are able to make it through the 20 hours without eating.

HomeWork

A1. Improve your maths ability: Complete a random 10 x 10 grid in under 2 min

For homework we have to complete a 10x 10 grid. I did my first one and I got 2mins and 9secs.
My goal is to get under 2mins. Hopefully this will be an easy goal I just need to get rid of the 9secs.
