A most triumphant tale.

The last couple of days we have been performing at bay court for our production. It has been a long week with shows every night but happy that it is over but sad because it has been fun being with everyone. Our first show was infront of other schools. Tauranga primary came and so did more schools. That night we also had a performance it was our real first performance in front of adults. I was in 3 scenes. The next day we had a night show. That was the best. The audience was cheering and it made you want to smile and enjoy what you are doing.

Thursday our last day. I arrive at school ready to catch the bus when Mrs Storey came up to me and said "Islah is sick, can you take her part"? I said yes. I had to learn her lines because she was in one demension which meant she was one of the leads. We arrive at bay court and I get my make up done and started learning the new dances and lines because I wasn't in all the dances she was in.

Our first performance was to our own school. I was pretty nervous as I had only danced on the stage never had to talk. I got all mic up and went to the stage with Mackenzie and got a sound check. Then the curtain comes and it's all on. I was in scene three. Then it was my turn we go on stage and the music starts. I try and remember all the moves and I did. I just forgot to lip sync the lines.

We go off stage we have a quick costume change we only had about 2 minutes to get fully unchanged and into our next costume. We go on stage. I was talking in this scene. I sat down and was on my phone. I start talking I could hear my voice going through the speakers. I try and remember all my lines. I think I did we'll. next costume change was into rumour has it. I remember to lip sync in this one. This dance was fun because we had the choir and everyone singing.

Once we are off stage another quick change into our final countdown. I finally get change and I was on stage. Remembering my dance that was my best one. Then we had a break. My next one was swan lake.  Quick costume change into no digety. I loved that one that was fun. Then we had th curtain call that was fun because I got to go on with one dimension.

It was such a good experience. I loved it. I wish it went longer but everyone is very tired and tried there best. Mrs storey and Jessica Ross directed and wrote the script.

Home work

E6. Join the production, choir, a band or Kapa Haka participating in all rehearsals and performances for the year

I choose to do production, you had to audition and I got in for a dancer. We have had long hours of practicing on Sundays and everyday at school. But the time has come. We have done 3 shows already! We did our first show on Tuesday night. There wasn't much people and the crowd wasn't the best but there was clapping. The next show was Wednesday lunch time. We did it for school, Tga Primary, Green park. Then we had our night show. There was soooo many people they cheered and clapped it was so cool. I love being on stage, especially dancing on stage. Our last shows are today. Our daytime one to our school and then the last night show. My favorite bit is the curtain call, were you run on stage and bow it so fun!

P7. Design your own challenge

For my design a challenge I picked to make it into the Aims team for school and also get in for the A rep team in Tauranga. We had our trials for Aims last week we played the B team in a game of hockey. The next day we found out if we were in the team and.... I got into the Aims team! I was soooo happy! I went to Aims last year and it was so much fun!!

We had three rep trials one each weekend on Sunday. The first trial we just did the 12 minute run and played mini games as it was raining. The next Sunday was also a open trial so anyone could go. We did skills and then played a game. The third trial was invite only, I got an invite back. Getting an invite means your are mostly likely going to get into the top team or the development team. We played 6 20 minutes games. It was very tiring but 2 hours of hockey was fun! The next day I look on the website and the list was up! I had got in!!! They mostly only take year 8 in the Top team because the development is to develop the year 7 for next year. But I got in!!  I got in last year into the Collier top team. Leah,Tessa and myself were the only year 7's which we thought that was pretty good us getting into a team full of year 8's and we were the tiny year 7's. We have our first training Sunday.

P5. Compete in a sport for an entire season

I choose hockey as my home work challenge. Our last game is this friday for the end of round 1, we are playing off for 1st and 2nd against.... Otumoetia We played them last week and unfortunately lost to them. But it was the first time this year we have lost to them as we have beat them twice this year. We are having round 2 after this. Hopefully if we lose or win tonight we will still be at the top of the table.
