Jump Jam

On Saturday 14th September the Tauranga Intermediate School Jump Jam competed at north island champs. A few months ago we sent a DVD off to get judged. We came 1st out of New Zealand. Our song was Proud Mary. The top 10 teams from north and south island competed. We were against 10 teams from the north island.

We had to met at 8am at the hair parlor. It was such an awesome place it had black and white square floors and a juke box. It was so retro! We all got our hair done. It was crimped and then put up and back combed. We really did look like Tina Turners! We had red tassel dresses. Angel was a boy she she wore a waist coat and Olivia was Tina Turner she wore the same dress as us but in black.

We all drove to Bethlehem College where we were competing.  The year 5&6 category was still going so we went and watched. After that we went down to the green room to touch up our makeup and go through the routine. We got all our photos taken and waited backstage for our call. The music comes on it starts. Seeing all the people in the auditorium made me happy with our bigs smiles we were loving it!

Everyone came back out then the judges announces the winners. "Second place is... Aquinas College" said the judge. Then we were all silent "and in 1st place is... Tauranga Intermediate"!!! screams came from the team we jumped up and received our trophy and our certificates. We were going to nationals!!!!!
